Also, you will find troubleshooting tips to help fix the issue and get your smart plug working in your time.

Why Is My Teckin Smart Plug Not Connecting?

There are several reasons why your Teckin smart plug is not connecting. It could be an issue with the internet connection, or the smart plug itself. Let’s check out some of the reasons in detail below:

 a. Internet Connection Issue

You need stable wireless internet for the Teckin smart plug to work. If the wireless network is weak, you will have an issue connecting your smart plug to it.

Also, it could be that the number of devices connected to the wireless network has exceeded the maximum number of devices recommended. Finally, it could be that you are connecting to the wrong wi-fi network band.

b. Issue With The Smart App

If the smart app isn’t functioning well, you will have an issue connecting your Teckin smart plug to it. It could be that the smart app wasn’t installed properly or the app requires an update which you haven’t done. All these can affect the functionality of the app, and also make the Teckin smart plug not connect.

c. Issue With The Smart Plug

It could be that you didn’t plug in the smart plug the way it should be plugged in. Another reason could be that the smart plug is damaged.

6 Ways To Fix The Teckin Smart Plug Is Not Connecting

Here, we will mention some of the possible tips you can try to fix the issue in no time:

a. Check The Wireless Signal

Most times, when there is an issue with the smart plug the wireless internet is usually the culprit. The first step is to check the wi-fi signal strength on your smart plug. If the Wi-Fi signal is weak, there are some tips to fix it. First, ensure that the router is close to your device.

Also, remove any objects that block electromagnetic waves near your router. That includes your cell phone, microwave, baby monitor, and similar objects.

Also, check the number of devices connected to the router and make sure that it’s not above the maximum limit. For most routers, the maximum number of devices you can connect at a time is 10. If there are 10 devices connected already and you’re trying to connect your smart plugin it won’t work. Rather disconnect any of the prior connected devices and try connecting your smart plug again.

b. Switch To A Supported Wi-Fi Network Band

Your Teckin smart plug won’t work if you are connected to the wrong Wi-Fi network band. The Teckin smart plug only works with the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. Meanwhile, most wi-fi supports the 5.0 GHz network band. Go to your wi-fi network setting to ensure that your smart plug is connected to the 2.4 GHz and not the 5.0 GHz. Follow the steps below to connect to a 2.4 GHz network band.
